We work closely with our parent company, FirstGroup, on community engagement and welcome requests for tickets to be used as auction or raffle prizes by completing this application form.

Charitable Ticket Request - Terms and Conditions

In line with FirstGroup policy, any donations made must be to charities registered with either:

Charities registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales
Charities registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)
Community Interest Companies (CIC) registered in the UK with the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies

Almost any registered charity is eligible, but unfortunately, we are unable to fund the following types of organisations:

Animal Welfare charities (though this does not include conservation charities)
Any organisation that could be deemed to have a controversial or negative impact on the reputation of FirstGroup plc
Core costs for a charity, including for buildings, salaries, general running, management or travel costs
Crowd-funded appeals
Organisations that promote a specific religion or requires beneficiaries to be of a specific faith, convert to that faith or accept information or teaching about that faith as a condition of taking part in or benefitting from programmes and or services
Political parties or organisations who promote a specific political party
Running costs for charitable events, including marketing materials, room hire etc. charitable expeditions or overseas travel for individuals or groups; UK travel / transport
Scouts, Girl Guides, Cadets or similar organisations
Sports charities and clubs (unless there is a strong focus on education, employability and skills or sustainable and accessible mobility)
The Arts (e.g. theatre, choirs, cultural projects)
Universities, colleges or schools, pre-schools and nurseries including Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs), even where these are a registered charity

Allocations

Avanti West Coast will allocate a maximum of 2 Standard Class tickets per request, and may choose not to support multiple applications from the same person or for the same charity, based on the number of tickets allocated to a given charity or person within each financial year.

Tickets Can Be Revoked

Avanti West Coast reserves the right to cancel tickets if they are found to be used for any other purpose.

To request supported travel please complete the form below, support is only available to the individual undergoing treatment and those accompanying the individual (up to a maximum of 3 people).

You’ll need to submit a copy of an appointment letter to verify the request for support and please note that our offer is purely discretionary and can be withdrawn at any time.

Due to the number of requests we receive it can take up to 10 working days to receive a response so please ensure you allow enough time in planning your journey.

Support for Community Rail Partnership travel

Community Rail Partnerships play a vital role in connecting the railways to the local communities and we are proud to support 21 Community Rail Partnerships across the network. Working with communities so they can get the most from their railway is part of our wider commitment to partnering with our stakeholders to bring about improvements, encouraging rail use and increasing investment in the railway.
