Bristol Airport Diamond Fund Application
Introduction
The Diamond Fund will seek to support projects in the local area which does not meet the strict criteria for Bristol Airport Local Community Fund 2024.
Guidelines for the Diamond Fund
Grants will be available to fund projects in local towns and villages in the vicinity of the Airport which would not qualify for support under the existing Local Community Fund (which has set criteria relating to noise mitigation, transport and biodiversity initiatives).
If you are a sports club applying for funding, we strongly recommend all teams and age groups affiliated with the club consider how the funding would provide the most benefit to the club as a whole, as opposed to individual age groups. We encourage one application from the club rather than individual applications from different age groups. Once a team has received funding, other teams affiliated with the club cannot apply for the next 24 months, as per the decision making process which states successful applicants will not be able to bid again for a similar project in the same location for 24 months.
The Diamond Fund Committee welcomes funding applications from not-for-profit organisations, charities, clubs and public entities that benefit the local community. Applications from privately held or for-profit businesses will generally not be supported through the scheme, unless the Diamond Fund Committee decides there are special circumstances, in which case discretion could be applied.
Decision Making Process
The Fund will support projects in the following areas:
Applications will be considered and the Fund administered through the existing Bristol Airport team representatives of the Bristol Airport Local Community Fund 2024 Committee.
It will be at the discretion of the Diamond Fund Committee to decide how much funding is allocated to each project, however only in very exceptional circumstances will payment of over £1,000 be considered. This figure has been arrived at by reviewing the previous grants supported via the Diamond Fund in 2018.
We want this fund to be as accessible as possible. We will therefore not be identifying a certain area which can access the fund or stating which groups can or cannot apply for funding. However, the Diamond Fund Committee will take proximity to the Airport and the individual project into consideration when administering the fund.
Diamond Fund meetings will follow the Local Community Fund meeting on a quarterly basis.
